- Description
- Compares how and to what extent Theseus in KnT and Prospero in Shakespeare's "The Tempest" are responsible for the initial disorder and the final order of their respective stories. Theseus progresses from aggressive engagement in the world to acceptance of Providential order; Prospero acts to re-order the results of his earlier passivity. Acceptance of Providence is more characteristic of the medieval poet than the Renaissance dramatist.
