Edits Kynaston's 1639 Latin translation of Chaucer's TC.
The introduction surveys research on Kynaston; discusses his life and literary oeuvre; describes the printed text of 1635 and the manuscript of 1639; discusses Kynaston's commentary on TC (divided into six topics: astronomy/astrology, medicine, nature, technology, human behavior, and "varia"); and analyzes the language, metrics, and concept of translation (pp. 16-121).
The edition (pp. 122-334) and commentary (pp. 335-462) follow. Also includes a bibliography and three appendices, which contain Kynaston's dedicatory poems, excerpts from two of his other poems, and various plates.
