- Inscribed in Durham Palace Green Library, Bamburgh Select. 8, a copy of the "c. 1550 Thynne edition of Chaucer’s Workes," this epitaph stands apart from the three Latin texts heretofore known. One of its signatories may be identified as the “Edmund Southerne Gent” who alludes to Chaucer in the “dedicatory epistle” to his 1593 work ":A treatise concerning the right vse and ordering of bees."
