- Description
- Assesses relations between dreams and determinism (fate, providence, and prophecy) in three medieval narratives: Kriemhild’s dream in the "Nibelungenlied," the dreams in" Der Nonne von Engeltal Büchlein von der Gnaden Überlast," and Chanticleer's dream in NPT. In the latter, physiological humoral processes counterpoint dream theories, and the philosophical implications of the tale are "relativized" by humor and "the fact that the protagonists must also be considered as natural enemies."
