The Sources of Chaucer's Seven Deadly Sins
- Published
- Traditio 30 (1974): 351-78.
- Description
- Explores relations among the section on the vices in ParsT and its sources and/or analogues in Peraldus's "Summa de Vitiis" and two derivative treatises, here referred to by their initial words, "Quoniam" and "Primo" respectively. The latter treatises indicate a complex tradition of adapting Peraldus and provide closer analogues to Chaucer's treatment of the vices than have been previously been discovered.
