The Significance of Scribal Corrections in Cambridge, University Library MS Dd.4.24 of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales

Published
Chaucer Review 41 (2007): 393-438.

Description
Systematic analysis of corrections disproves the notion that the Dd scribe was either careless or meddling, suggesting instead that his corrections were executed in the course of checking his copying against his exemplar. The remaining corrections were made in response to at most one other authoritative exemplar.
