- Late-medieval English poets asserted their authorial identity in a commercial environment in various ways, including producing fascicles or pamphlets. Chaucer asserted his authorship through letters (Scog, Buk, and the letters in TC). Horvath also considers techniques of Lydgate and Hoccleve.
