Description
In TC, Chaucer amplified traits in Criseyde that Boccaccio emphasized less in "Filostrato."
Criseyede's social isolation, fearfulness, awareness of her social rank, and vulnerability both make her a more fully realized character than Boccaccio's Criseida and maker her betrayal of Troilus more understandable.
