Part 1: Semantic categories of vocabulary are useful in tracing Chaucer's macrostructure for CT. Using a computerized morpheme dictionary, Phelan traces medieval static macrostructures such as the seven deadly sins--a deductive approach to his recommended thesaurus construction.
Part 2: Using techniques borrowed from information science and linking vocabulary to scenes and tale sections, he presents an actual thesaurus for PardT.
