- Demonstrates, "on the basis of handwriting and dialect correspondences (and aided in part by the evidence of colophons), that the scribe who wrote the copy of the 'Canterbury Tales' in Rylands English MS 113 also wrote the first 53 folios of Bodleian MS Digby 181." The scribe's name may be John Brode, Jr.
