- In 1635, Sir Francis Kinaston published a translation into Latin verse of the first two books of Chaucer's TC under the title "Amorum Troili et Creseidae libri duo priores Anglico-Latini". This is best described as a parallel-text edition, for a "reprint of Speght's 1598 text of Books I and II of the 'Troilus' is accompanied page-for-page and stanza-for-stanza by Kinaston's Latin rendering."
- In addition, Kinaston finished "a complete 'en face' translation of Chaucer's poem accompanied by a body of explanatory notes." He died before his work was printed, but the manuscript survives.
